Arizona sports betting handle dips to 10-month low in June

Bettors spent $543 million wagering on sports in Arizona during June 2025.
Sportsbook customer spending in Arizona slipped to its lowest monthly total in June since August 2024. However, the state was able to report year-on-year growth across both handle and revenue.
Gross event wagering receipts in June reached $543 million, according to figures from the Arizona Department of Gaming. This surpassed June last year by 19.6% but fell 23.1% from $707.1 million in May this year.
Online betting accounted for $540 million of total handle, with retail’s contribution just $2.6 million.
Arizona players received back $478.8 million from sports betting, leaving $67.3 million in adjusted gross receipts. However, after taking off $16.8 million in free bets and promotional credits, adjusted gross receipts totalled $50.5 million, up 59.8% year-on-year and only 2.5% less than May’s numbers.
Of this total, online betting generated $49.6 million and retail $881,856.
Based on the latter adjusted figure, this resulted in a statewide sports betting hold of 9.29% for the month.
FanDuel leads Arizona market in June
Flutter’s FanDuel was again the leading operator in revenue terms. FanDuel took $18 million in post-free bets receipts off a $177.6 million handle for a 10.14% hold.
DraftKings ranked second with $14.6 million from $158.5 million, leaving a hold of 9.21%. BetMGM followed in third, posting $5.9 million off a $54.8 million handle for a 10.77% hold.
ESPN Bet was next with $4 million from a $28.3 million handle, meaning a 14.13% hold for the month. Fanatics completed the top five, reporting $2.9 million from $44.5 million for a 6.52% hold.
Tax-wise, operators paid the state a total of $5 million, with all but $70,549 coming from online wagering activity.
