Michigan and Washington will be the ones competing for a College Football Playoff national championship on Monday, but all college football fans could be winners that day.
That is because EA Sports plans on releasing an “official update” on its college football video game to coincide with the title game, per Brandon Marcello of 247Sports.
Marcello noted it remains unclear whether there will be an official release date as part of this update, but the game is still expected to arrive in the summer of 2024. What’s more, EA Sports is expected to keep its “Dynasty” and “Road to Glory” modes.
The game is being built on the same engine as the company’s popular Madden franchise, but there will be a college-specific focus on features such as traditions, stadiums, playbooks and throwback uniforms.
EA Sports’ college football game was always one of its most popular titles, and its return has been eagerly anticipated since the company announced it in February 2021:

The latest version of the game was NCAA Football 14, but with name, image and likeness rules now in place in college football, the stage is set for a long-awaited return that figures to have actual players and more modern graphics.
