Saints add two additional coaches to their defensive coaching staff

Per a report Matt Zenitz with CBS Sports, the New Orleans Saints are expected to add Robert Blanton and Jay Rodgers to new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s staff.
Blanton is a former NFL safety who drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2012 NFL Draft. After retiring from the NFL, he started his coaching career at Benilde-St. Margaret High School in Minnesota, as their defensive backs coach. He later joined Miami University (Ohio) staff as their defensive pass game coordinator and safeties coach.
Rodgers comes to New Orleans with over 23 years of collegiate and NFL coaching experience. He also has ties with the Saints new defensive coordinator dating back to 2021 when he was with the Los Angeles Chargers as their outside linebackers coach and run game coordinator. Rodgers then moved to their outside linebackers coach and run game coordinator under Staley for the next two seasons. In 2024, Rodgers served as the Atlanta Falcons defensive line coach.
