Texas’ Sabinal High School coach Kenneth Wayne Mulkey, 43, sent a sexually explicit photo to a police officer he thought was a 14-year-old boy and asked for a graphic photo in return.
Kenneth Wayne Mulkey, a high school coach and teacher for Sabinal High School, allegedly asked an undercover special agent for their age, sex and location over Snapchat.
Mulkey served as head track coach and offensive coordinator for the varsity football team.
After the officer posing as a minor declined to reciprocate the photo, Mulkey allegedly went on to discuss topics “that were sexual in nature,” reads the Western District of Texas press release.
An investigation determined that when Mulkey requested sexually explicit photos of the minor, his geolocation was within 40 meters of Sabinal High School.
Mulkey was removed from the campus and has been placed on administrative leave due to the investigation.
Law enforcement arrested Mulkey on Jan. 31 in Sabinal, and he appeared in federal court Feb. 3.
