Vasiliy Lomachenko dominates George Kambosos Jr. with a brilliant boxing performance to become IBF lightweight champion

An absolute clinic from Loma.

Vasiliy Lomachenko is a lightweight world champion once again.

The 36-year-old completely outclassed George Kambosos Jr. behind a dazzling display of footwork, stealth level changes and pointed boxing brilliance to deliver a rousing 11th-round TKO to claim the IBF lightweight world title at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia on Sunday.

Steadily breaking Kambosos down round by round, Lomachenko wound up a left hand to the body, forcing the battered Australian to take a knee in the 11th round. With blood gushing from a cut over his right eye, Kambosos mustered enough grit to rise off the canvas but Lomachenko rushed him and targeted the body again as Kambosos took another knee, prompting the referee to stop the bout as Kambosos’ corner simultaneously threw in the towel.

Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) outlanded Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) a whopping 175 to 40 punches as the Australian wasn’t a match for Loma. DAZN News had scored the fight a shutout for Lomachenko prior to his TKO victory which came 2:49 into the 11th-round.

“It was my goal, it was my motivation and now I’m world champion again,” Loma said during the post-fight press conference, “and now I’m very happy.”

Here’s how the entire Lomachenko vs. Kambosos main card went.
