Watch: Free Fight — Tom Aspinall vs. Sergei Pavlovich
Tom Aspinall might just be the best heavyweight on the planet right now.
The Englishman, 14-3 in his professional mixed martial arts career, will defend his UFC interim heavyweight title at UFC 304 in Manchester later this month in a rematch against Curtis Blaydes — the American wrestler with whom he shared the cage for around 15 seconds in the summer of 2022 before a knee injury forced his first UFC loss (even if it was something of a technicality).
But after spending a year on the sidelines in recuperation, Aspinall has returned for two fights — which have proceeded for a combined duration of 2 minutes and 22 seconds.
The first was a shellacking of Marcin Tybura in London almost a year to the day after he sustained the injury. The second? A 69-second knockout of dangerous Russian striker Sergei Pavlovich; a win that earned him interim UFC gold and a shot at Jon Jones (though that is a story for another day).
Check out Aspinall making quick work of Pavlovich in Madison Square Garden last November in the video below.
