Will Thomas Voeckler be the next former pro cyclist to turn into a triathlete?

It seems particularly popular among (former) pro cyclists these days: making the switch to the sport of triathlon. Once again the hype seems true and it’s pretty likely that Frenchman Thomas Voeckler will focus more and more on the combination of swimming, biking and running in the near future.
Voeckler – now 45 years old – is still considered one of France’s most popular cyclists and won the hearts of millions of fans by often coloring stages in the Tour de France with huge grimaces on his face and the necessary sense of drama. The former pro cyclist, who retired from the peloton in 2017, rode in the yellow jersey several times, making himself immortal in front of his home crowd.
Last weekend, Voeckler suddenly showed up at the half marathon in Paris, where he clocked a lightning-fast 1:13:21. This put him 179th out of 48,000 participants and fourth in his M45 category.
In 2024, Voeckler already did a triathlon once in Martinique, where he is originally from. Not only did he compete in the Movember Triathlon then, he won it directly.
