Nov. 30, 2022Photos of Holmes and Robach together at a New York City bar and at a cabin in upstate New York were released in a bombshell DailyMail report, several months after the couple reportedly started dating in June while they were covering Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee in London.

Dec. 2, 2022Page Six reported Holmes had previously maintained a three-year affair with a “Good Morning America” producer, according to a source who was not named, who said Holmes would talk to Robach about his affair during that time.

Dec. 2, 2022Reports show Holmes and Robach both filed for divorce— from Marilee Fiebig and Andrew Shue, respectively — in August, though People reported Robach had wanted to file for divorce before announcing she was dating Holmes.

Dec. 5, 2022ABC News President Kim Godwin announced in a staff call that Holmes and Robach had been taken off the air as the company conducted an internal investigation into their relationship, calling their affair an “internal and external distraction,” but saying they did not violate company policy (Godwin also announced ABC correspondents Gio Benitez and Stephanie Ramos would fill in on as temporary hosts).

Jan. 19, 2023While the investigation was ongoing, ABC executives learned Holmes had a third office relationship with a 24-year-old network script coordinator in 2015, the DailyMail reported, speaking to an unnamed source, who described his affair as “reckless.”

Key Background

ABC News brought on Holmes and Robach as co-anchors of “GMA3: What You Need to Know” in September 2020, replacing a show dedicated to coverage of the Covid pandemic, three months after “GMA3: Strahan, Sara and Keke,” with former NFL defensive end Michael Strahan, Sara Haines and actor Keke Palmer, was taken off the air. Last March, Holmes posted a since-deleted photo with Robach and ABC News President Kim Godwin on Instagram with the caption: “Head of ABC News had to fly all the way to [Los Angeles] to make sure we were behaving.” Holmes, who is married to attorney Marilee Fiebig, and Robach, who is married to actor Andrew Shue, ran the New York City Half Marathon together, along with Shue, posting training videos on TikTok and a shot of them together at the finish line on Instagram. ABC News did not immediately respond to a Forbes request for more details.

Chief Critic

Godwin reportedly came under fire after first saying Holmes and Robach would face no disciplinary action for their affair and bringing them back on the air just one day after the DailyMail report was published, with one ABC News source telling Fox News the situation was “embarrassing.”
