If “go big or go home” isn’t your style and the mini seems a bit too, well…small, don’t worry—the Therabody Valentine’s Day Sale also includes its midrange models. Save 20 percent on the Theragun Elite, which our guide to the best massage guns describes as “heavy enough to deliver a strong pulse but light enough to throw into a backpack.” And if you’re in the market for a full-size massager with a more affordable price tag, consider the Theragun Sense, a solid entry-level massager currently marked down by $50.

In case you need a refresher: these massage guns apply rapid bursts of pressure to soft tissue (this is called percussive therapy). In essence, percussive therapy can facilitate muscle relaxation and boost circulation, supporting recovery. To get started, position the massage gun about an inch away from your skin on those tender spots, then squeeze the trigger. Move it around the muscle for approximately 30 seconds, trying to remain relaxed. Discovered a sore spot? Spend a bit more time working on it. We find that using a massage gun before exercise is great for loosening up stiff muscles, and after a tough workout, it just feels great.
