Samsung’s new Galaxy S24 Ultra may already be suffering from the infamous green line display issue
Just a few weeks after it launched globally, there now appear to be two reported cases of Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra units in the US randomly developing the dreaded green line issue on their displays.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 series seemingly introduced the notorious green line display issue a few years ago, with other models from Samsung and OEMs like OnePlus and Realme also displaying similar issues. Four years after the release of the S20 series, there now looks to be an identical case with Samsung’s latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
As shared on Reddit by u/Ok_Marketing_6979, six days after purchasing the all-new Galaxy S24 Ultra, the flagship appears to have developed an issue, with a green vertical line and white horizontal line permanently marring the phone’s display. Reportedly, reboots and even a factory reset have failed to solve the issue, which is consistent with similar cases on other models.
Worryingly, this doesn’t appear to be an isolated case, with another Redditor, u/Independent-Bet-4916, reporting an identical case of a green vertical line on a new Galaxy S24 Ultra. In both cases, the owners have struggled with securing replacements or refunds from the carrier stores where the devices were purchased.
It’s unknown if this will become a widespread issue with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and could instead just be a manufacturing defect on an extremely limited number of units. Samsung devices have gained a reputation for developing this particular fault, though, and that’s unlikely to fill fans with confidence. We’ll keep you updated either way.
