Eagles won’t be playing in Australia during the 2026 season after all

The Philadelphia Eagles will NOT be playing the Los Angeles Rams in Australia during the 2026 NFL season.

It was previously reported that the Eagles were “likely” to play the Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2026.

But then Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie shut down the idea that the Eagles would be losing a home game at Lincoln Financial Field for the second time within three years.

Further, the NFL officially announced on Wednesday that the Rams will be the “home team” for an Australian game in 2026. With the Eagles set to host the Rams in Philly that season, the Birds will not be LA’s opponent in “The Land Down Under.”

But just because the Eagles won’t be coming to Australia in 2026 doesn’t mean they won’t be playing there eventually. The Eagles hold marketing rights there and the NFL announced a “multiyear commitment to play regular season games in Melbourne.”

So, perhaps we’ll see the Eagles play there in 2027 or beyond?
