Texas Cemetery Reportedly Boosts Security To Protect Gravesite Of Megan Thee Stallion’s Mother
A Texas cemetery isn’t taking any chances with the final resting place of Megan Thee Stallion’s mom. The cemetery reportedly beefed up security and alerted local police to possible threats against the gravesite.
TMZ reportedly spoke to the cemetery overseers on Tuesday (Jan. 30), who claim they’re taking “all matters regarding safety and security seriously.” To note, Holly Thomas’ gravesite hasn’t been harassed or vandalized as of Tuesday evening. The increased security appears to be a precautionary measure.

Thomas passed away in 2019 while battling brain cancer, per PEOPLE. The ‘Hot Girl Summer’ rapper was Holly’s only child. Though she was born in San Antonio, Holly raised Megan in Houston, influencing her love for music at an early age with her own raps. Thomas managed Meg until her passing.
Megan’s father, Joseph Pete, is also deceased. He was reportedly imprisoned until Meg was 8, but Megan told Marie Claire in April 2020 that they were “together every day” after his release. Eight years before her mother’s death, Megan’s father died during her first year in high school.
Threats Against Gravesite Of Megan’s Mom Increase Amid Rap Shade With Nicki Minaj
While Holly Thomas’ gravesite remains undisturbed, threats of digging up her corpse have been swirling online.
This comes amid Nicki Minaj’s elaborate response to Megan’s ‘Hiss’ record. Minaj seemingly took offense to a lyric about Megan’s Law, a law requiring law enforcement to provide public information about sex offenders. Despite Meg’s lack of a name-drop in ‘Hiss,’ Nicki has suggested the rapper was targeting her family in the track.

For context, Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was arrested in 2020 when he failed to register on California’s registry for his 1995 attempted rape conviction in New York. That same year, Nicki’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was sentenced to 25 years to life. The conviction stems from charges for the repeated sexual assault of a pre-teen in 2015, per USA TODAY.
On Sunday (Jan. 28), after a weekend of seemingly taking shots at Megan in X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram posts and live sessions on Stationhead, Minaj released ‘Big Foot.’ The track accuses Meg of “lying on [her] dead momma” throughout while also leveraging claims of Megan’s alleged sexual history.
To note, Nicki has not explicitly suggested any harm come to the resting place of Megan Thee Stallion’s mom on any of her public platforms. The Barbz, Nicki’s fanbase, is reportedly believed to be behind the doxxing of the gravesite, per TMZ.
Regardless, the Texas cemetery where Holly Thomas is buried is reportedly following reactions to the songs and monitoring threats.
At this time, neither Nicki nor Megan have responded to reports of boosted security presence at her mom’s gravesite.
